ODSP Changes Announced

On February 8, 2006 the Minister of Community and Social Services announced a number of changes to the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP).

These changes will be phased in with items 1 and 2 below effective April 1, 2006. The remaining changes take effect on November 1, 2006.

Upcoming Events

November 1st – 7th – Down Syndrome Awareness Week
Each year during the first week of November, Canadian families and associations go that extra step to enhance our communities’ awareness and understanding of Down Syndrome. Information can be downloaded from the Canadian Down Syndrome Society web page and shared with your child’s community. http://www.cdss.ca/site/resources/down_syndrome/index.php

November 27th Christmas Party

Location:    Port Whitby Marina, 301 Watson Street West, Whitby
Time:          2:00 pm – 5:00 pm Children’s Party
                   7:30 pm – 10:30 pm Youth Dance

For the children’s party, please bring a wrapped gift labelled with your child’s name (approx. value of $10 or less) for each child attending the party for Santa to hand out. Bob Chamberlain, the Magician, will be entertaining the children from approximately 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm.

For the Youth dance, please bring a food item to share at our buffet table (ie. Peanut free desserts, fruit, veggie tray, cheese and crackers, etc.) There will be a $2.00 entrance fee for the Youth Dance to help offset some of our expenses.
