Currently
there is a study at the University Ontario Institute of Techonogy
(UOIT). Dr. Meghann Lloyd is looking for children (both with Down
syndrome and without) to participate in a study regarding activity and
movement. These benefit of these studies are two fold. They
benefit the research community as well as you and your child. Dr. Lloyds research helps to provide proper information to the medical community. You can take a look at their current request flyer here. Dr. Lloyd is looking for children between the ages of 6 to 10 years of age. Next year she will be looking for children from the age of three if funding is met. These movement studies are conducted at the UOIT in Durham. Past studies conducted include Treadmill Walking which yeilded results of children with Down syndrome walking approximately three months earlier than their peers. If you are interested in Dr. Lloyd's research study (joining or for information) project please contact us and we will direct your information to her. If you know of a research study or report that will be of interest to our members, please contact us and let us know. |
